Explanation of Royalty Free Music Licenses

When a piece of music is licensed on a royalty free or buy-out option, it simply means that the license is perpetual, and no further sync fees will be due to the copyright holders from the producer. It does not mean that performance royalties from performance rights organizations will not be paid on the broadcast of the music. The licenses vary from company to company.
